Division President Conducts Satellite 
Family Life Campaign for Pacific Rim

“Well, regarding the Happy Family Forever: Myth or Reality satellite evangelistic campaign is Zamboanga City, South Philippines, we praise God for the results. So far, as far as information we have collected is concerned, we had some 2000 people who have been baptized in different places. In the sight area alone, we had some 457 people baptized. There were some 111 baptized in Myanmar and some 87 people baptized in Bangladesh. I have met several people in Atlanta, Georgia from different countries of Africa, and they said they have enjoyed following up the series on Hope Channel. I have no exact update on the results in those places but I would say that only eternity can tell how many will be in God's kingdom as a result of that satellite campaign. I had some 1,500 to 2,000 people coming each night in Zamboanga City. The brethren used the Series B - 15 four page lessons.”

“Happy Family Church” in Guam

“Yes, here is other good news. Today, on the island of Guam, there is a new group of believers. They call themselves the Happy Family Seventh-day Adventist Church in Dededo, Guam.  They are still meeting in a Tent every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. I went to Guam and conducted a series of meetings for three weeks using the Family approach. It was down-to-earth, enriching every presentation with my personal experiences. The initial result was a baptism of 39 souls. The Pastor there continued the meetings during the succeeding months and more baptisms followed. Today, the group is trying to acquire a piece of property for a permanent site for a house of worship for the group. They are now an organized company with over 120 members! Thank you for the book I LOVE YOU which has inspired me to really go into the Family approach in evangelism. This is now the ninth year that I have been using this and many of our pastors too are using the same approach modified to their own situations.”

Editor’s Note: This church in Guam is now the fourth congregation that we know of which came out of a Family Life Evangelistic campaign and has adopted the name “Happy Family” or “Family of God” (which is a campaign Theme Song). One is in Spanish Town, Jamaica; one in Nassau, Bahamas; and one in Port Limon, Costa Rica. The Spanish Town congregation has just dedicated a beautiful new church building.

Happy Family Campaign in Indonesia

“I am also happy to inform you that we have conducted another series of meetings in Ambon, Maluku,  Indonesia, using the family approach. The Union president who was my translator told me that in the past he had taken the family approach for granted. But witnessing personally what we have done with an average nightly attendance of no less than 700 people coming each night and about forty percent are non Adventists – some were even Muslims coming night after night - he has decided to adopt the family evangelism approach from now on. Praise God. We had a baptism of 86 souls. Praise the Lord.”

Small Group lessons now available in French!

In response to repeated requests, the set of 15 four-page Small Group Lessons, which is coded Series B, has recently been printed in French. These user-friendly lessons are ideal for presenting our major Bible Doctrines together with compatible family issues in home groups as well as in church settings.  Still at our affordable price of $ 3.95 for 100 or more sets, they are now available in English, French, Spanish, and Chinese. The Chinese edition is obtained from the China Union. 

Domestic Violence Conference

Happy Family Bible Seminars International hosted its first Domestic Violence Conference “Expanding Awareness ~ Enhancing Solutions” at the Pine Hills Rose Center in Orlando, Florida.  Dr. Mable Dunbar, President of Women’s Healing and Empowerment Network, and Director of Women’s Ministries, Family Ministries and Counseling Services of the Upper Columbia Conference of S.D.A., was the keynote Presenter.  This symposium was the brainchild of Dr. Noel Brathwaite, and received sponsorship from the General Conference, Southeastern and Florida Conferences, and Florida Hospital.

Fifth Anniversary

This is the fifth year of operation for Happy Family Bible Seminars International. And we praise God for His bountiful blessings to this unique ministry which services pastors, evangelists and lay leaders in various countries of the world. To celebrate our fifth anniversary, we are embarking on an ambitious program of training 500 pastoral and lay evangelists in five states to do effective Family Life Evangelism. This training would be done in intensive one-day workshops, and would be provided free of charge to participants. We would supply all of the workshop materials.
